THE CLASS OF 2O21: Sylvie Stojanovski

Sylvie Stojanovski

University of Toronto Scarborough

Sylvie Stojanovski (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist, and experience designer whose work explores the myriad of relationships we have with the natural world—from the transience of reflections on water, to the complexity of memories of the land we hold from childhood.

One of her most recent bodies of work, Impressions of Place is a series of multi-layered, mixed media pieces that intimately capture the essence of places that she once rarely traversed, but now frequents as a result of COVID-19.

Sylvie is interested in probing the dualities of nature/culture and the cartesian divide between the human (mind) from the wild (body). Her work is an intimate dialogue between our lived experiences, perceptions, and the environments we occupy.
