About Laura

​

Laura Vautour works through physical and emotional states in her practice, focusing on painting, printmaking, and photography processes. Through the deconstruction of data, she simplifies compositions to their most basic elements to make sense of unmanageable periods of time. The iterations of line form patterns and create tension expressing the boundaries in her relationships and environments. Laura is interested in obsessive and neurotic tendencies, in the accumulation and the reorganizing.

Laura currently resides in Guelph, Ontario where she is completing her Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Studio Art at the University of Guelph. She is a Working Member at Necessary Arts Studio and a Promotion and Programming Coordinator with The Gathered Gallery.
